Legal Assistant

Location : Fort Worth | Job Type : Full Time

This position requires an organized, reliable, and flexible individual that can communicate effectively and efficiently between internal and external clients. Day-to-day work includes problem-solving and managing a broad range of tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining good working relationships that promote Gladney’s mission of fostering positive change in the lives of families of children

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works well in teams and collaborates with others.
  • Manage weekly legal meetings with adoption and birth parent case managers.
  • Promptly send and process documents to government entities, staff, and external clients.
  • Communicate legal plans with in and out-of-state attorneys.
  • Effectively draft legal documents.
  • E-file drafted pleadings and track progress.
  • Efficiently update and maintain notes and keep record(s) of case progression in web-based system.
  • Provide support (as witness, notary, consult) to birth parent services staff.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Has schedule flexibility to be available on nights and weekends.
  • Research laws, regulations and services in other states to assist the attorney and caseworkers working with the clients.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate degree or enrolled in secondary school with intent to receive an associates or bachelor’s degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel; Microsoft Teams
