Greetings from Gladney

We wanted to reach out to our friends and family and let you know some important information regarding COVID-19 and Gladney’s response. First, we want you to know our priority remains on ensuring we are caring for all our families, children, expectant mothers, and birth parents during this challenging time. While the current environment is evolving, one thing remains steadfast: our focus is on you. We are committed to making sure we continue to provide the finest adoption experience possible even during challenging times.

Please reach out to us if we can help answer any questions.

Specific Information:

Domestic Infant Adoption Program

The Domestic Infant Adoption program team is working diligently to continue to help you on your adoption journey, no matter what part of the process you are in at this time.

If you are a family currently applying to the program, please continue to submit documents,  and we will continue to build your file. We are not stopping; rather, we are adjusting how we do things right now.

If you are an Active family, we will continue to provide programmatic updates, profile opportunities, and support for you.  Program assistants and caseworkers are still available via phone and email.

If you are currently matched with an expectant mother, please speak with your caseworker directly about any travel plans, questions, or concerns you may have in the future.

If you are a family in supervision, we do not currently anticipate a change in your supervision schedule but will communicate if that changes.

Please know we are working hard to stay safe, while still meeting all of your needs.

International Adoption Program

The Asia Adoption program team at Gladney’s New York office is working diligently to continue to help you on your adoption journey, no matter what part of the process you are in at this time.

If you are a family currently applying to the program, please continue to submit documents, and we will continue to build your file. We are not stopping; rather, we are adjusting how we do things right now.

If you are an Active family, we will continue to send home studies to caseworkers. In the China program, we will diligently find children available from the shared list or list of children with special needs. If you are in our Taiwan program, we will continuously collaborate with our partners in Taiwan in recommending a child who is a good match for your family.

If you are a family in supervision, you should be hearing from your caseworker soon with a plan for the next few weeks.

Again, please know we are working hard to stay safe, while still meeting all of your needs. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I am available to you any time at 9170969-0987 or gongzhan.wu@gladney.org. Our entire staff is also available for you when there is a need.

Gladney Events: Educational, Social Connection, and Fundraising

The health and wellness of our community is a priority for us at Gladney. Based on the recommendations from the federal government and city leaders, we are postponing Gladney University trainings, large Gladney Family Association family connection events and fundraising events through May 3, 2020. This includes Gladney Night at Six Flags scheduled for April 24th. We are actively working with Six Flags on alternate summer dates and look forward to reconnecting with more information.

As we practice social distancing, we will continue to  provide educational opportunities via our podcast,  e-learning, and social media platforms. Our goal is to provide important information related to parenting and professional development, while creating platforms for meaningful engagement. Please continue to follow us on our social media platforms, where we will be posting new content each day. We understand this is an uncertain time, so we will be focusing on bringing you hopeful, inspiring, and practical information you can use at work and at home. Very soon, we will have updates on rescheduled trainings and events.

Plus, we have some great news to share! We will soon be rolling out a plan to bring you Gladney University on Demand. We can’t wait to share those details with you. We will be hard at work developing this new option during the next few weeks.

We wish you health and wellness.

Post Adoption & Client Services

The Post Adoption & Client Services team will continue to serve our clients. Although we will be working remotely, we will have access to all digital files and information. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us. During this time, our goal is to continue to provide exceptional service to our clients.

Please note the following:

  1. All campus visits and reunions have been cancelled through March 30th.
  2. There will be a two-week delay on the processing and sharing of updates, mail, and records requests.
  3. No in-home services or post placement visits will be conducted until after March 30th.

We apologize if any of these changes create an inconvenience for you. Our goal is to have as little a disruption in service as possible for our clients, while keeping everyone’s health and safety in mind. We appreciate your patience during this time.
