This 1 hour mandated reporter training is essential for youth serving organizations, professionals or any adult who has access to children. This training also meets all minimum requirements for daycare and youth camp staff.  In this training, you will learn:   

  • The realities of child abuse and its effect on our communities  
  • Definitions of child abuse as determined by law   
  • Recognizing signs and symptoms of child abuse  
  • Policies and best practices to better protect children in organizations   
  • How to properly respond to a disclosure of abuse  
  • Texas reporting laws 

Speaker

Katia Gonzalez - Gladney University Katia Gonzalez is the Director of Training and Team Relations at Alliance For Children. Katia began her career in field of child advocacy in 2010 as an investigator with the Department of Family and Protective Services where she worked as part of a multidisciplinary team investigating the most severe allegations regarding sexual and physical abuse, neglect, and child fatalities.  In 2015, Katia took a position with Alliance For Children and has served in various roles, dedicating her time to serve the mission of protecting Tarrant County children from child abuse through her efforts in providing prevention education to the community.

We are happy to offer .10 social work and counseling CEUs. Certificates of Completion of 1 contact hours is also available for all attendees.
